Tahiti

Tahiti, originally uploaded by shanniehalbert.

A lot of people have asked about our honeymoon trip we took last April to Bora Bora. I have decide to make it our first blog entry because it has almost been a year since we were there and I don't think we will ever be able to experience such beauty again.

When traveling to Bora Bora there is only one airline to take, Air Tahiti Nui. Patrick and I were a little nervous at first since we are die hard AA flyers, but all nerves were set a side as soon as we boarded. The plane was nice, clean and very spacious! We set in business class, the seats recline all the way, you are provided your own flat screen TVs with plenty of movies to choose to watch and are feed about every hour. The highlight for me (of course) was the toiletry kit that contained La Occitane lotion, face wash and lip balm. Not to mention a sleep mask, socks and a few other necessities needed for an 8 hour flight.

You arrive in the capital city of Papeete, Tahiti. There are only 2 options for flight times from LAX. You can either arrive around 11 pm Tahiti time or 5 am. We arrived at 11pm and spent the night at the Intercontinental by the airport. I highly suggest staying the night in Papeete if you can. It gives you a night to adjust to the time change and to enjoy a break from an airplane. The photos are of our room at the Intercontinental and the view from our balcony. In the morning, it will be time to head to Bora Bora!
